This script allows one to change the depth of a bdf font file.

When decreasing the depth, the least significant bits are dropped.

When increasing the depth, the original bit pattern is replicated a
sufficient number of times to fill out the new depth.

A future version will (optionally) attempt to smooth out or antialias
the diagonals and curves by directly making use of the larger colour
palate available at the higher depth.
